Breakup Breakdown began with a breakup and a song called Kali. The eleven-song album was written, performed, arranged and produced by Devin Oxman. Breakup Breakdown moves between modern country, alternative rock, and Celtic fiddle, with each song shaping its own sound.

Now a four-piece live band, Devin and the Deep Blue Sea reworks the album’s layered arrangements for the stage. On their upcoming album, Zero Sum, the band takes a harder alternative-rock and electronic direction, exploring power, complicity, and the stories people use to justify both.
