Devin and the Deep Blue Sea is a four-piece live band built around songs written, performed, arranged and produced by Devin Oxman.
With guitar, bass and drums surrounding vocals, lead guitar, fiddle and keys, the band takes the detailed studio arrangements of Breakup Breakdown as a blueprint while leaving enough room for the players to make them their own onstage.
The material moves freely between country, alt rock, Celtic fiddle and, increasingly, harder electronic textures. The result is a carefully built but restless live show: melodic and irreverent when it wants to be, confrontational when it needs to be, and designed to make an audience pay attention rather than talk over the band at the bar.
